The Importance of Plants

This webquest is designed to teach students the numerous importance plants play in our daily lives.  Very effective to teachers who  want to get their students knowledgeable about  the benefits plants. Beginning with a eye grabbing video students will in no time become attentive during the lesson.  Students will find it easy to relate their prior knowledge with the lesson and can observe the contents of the video to draw inferences and make conclusions. Through out the lesson it is important for teachers to probe students' knowledge with the use of questions rather than being a disseminator of information.

Standards

The lesson is intended to get students cognizant of plants and their benefits to the earth. Too long the focus of plants and its importance has been centered on photosynthesis, although it is the contributory process to life on earth but plants also offer a transactional range of benefits from medicinal to economical. The science standards addresses students to gain proficiency in science to:
� Know, use and interpret scientific explanations of the natural world
� Generate and evaluate scientific evidence and explanations
� Understand the nature and development of scientific knowledge
� Participate productively in scientific practices and learning activities with others.
