The Life of Immigrants

This webquest should be accomplished in a one week time frame with a 50-60 minute class.  I understand that because of the different ability levels of some students they may not be able to accomplish each day's lesson within the allotted time frame.  For differentiated instruction, I would allow students who needed more time to finish the lesson as homework.

Students should be able to examine the reasons why people emigrated from their homeland to settle in the United States during the late 19th century.
Strand 2 World History
Students should be able to analyze how world events of the late 20th century and early 21st century affects and continues to affect the social, political, geographic and economic climate of the world.
Strand 3 Government/Civics
Students should be able to compare different types of governments: dictatorships, totalitarianism, monarchies, socialism and communism.
Strand 4 Geography
Students should be able to construct maps, charts and graphs to display geographical information.
Strand 5 Economics
Students should be able to compare how private property rights differ in markets,captialist economies vs command (communist) economies.
