Teacher Page

The beauty of this WebQuest is that the timeframe which it takes for students to complete all 3 sections may vary slightly.  Working within their Social Studies peer group, students work at their own pace on this WebQuest to complete research, design/create a Famous Missourian Show-n-Tell presentation, and proof/edit/modify their presentation to completion.  The final activity is presented at our Parent Teacher Conferences during a FAMOUS MISSOURIAN SHOW-n-TELL presentation event. Students who wrap up their final project before others are free to complete the Extension Activities listed on the Conclusion page during class time.  Minimum days required would ideally be 7-10 class sessions, but could be adjusted accordingly to meet scheduling needs of the classroom.

Along with the state standards mentioned below, students are also engaged with their WebQuest teams to promote collaboration, compromising, decision making, negotiating skills, and problem solving.

Modifications/Accomodations:  As with any other project, assignment, or activity,  please make sure that all student's individual needs are met by way of satisfying the requirements set forth under either their 504-Plan or their IEP, if applicable.  Possible suggestions include, but are not limited to:  1) Enlarged print on computer screens or printed resource materials; 2) Scribe for written passages or assistance with any time-lines, drawings, graphics, etc.; 3) Strategic group placement to reduce tension amoung peers; 4) Provisions for Assistive Technology as applicable (ex. Voice-to-Text); 5) Frequent breaks and/or a 'Relax & Think' area for relaxation or re-direction, etc., etc.
