The range of websites used throughout the webquest provide the students with quality, useful and interesting information that will be used for the writing of the diary entry. Students will use the search and find technique to establish and determine what information is important and what is not.

The task provided allows the teacher to assess the syllabus outcomes of CCS3.1, as it allows the students to describe aspects of colonial expansion, allows for examination of different viewpoints and examines some of the impacts of stolen generations.

The students will be assessed on how well they provide relevant details within their diary entry and being able to effectively describe what it was like in 1788 for Aboriginals and English settlers.

There has been a range of resources used such as powerpoint, websites, worksheets, cloze passages, videos that all engage the students in quality learning which allows the students to obtain information with an interest in what they learning.

CCS3.1

Explains the significance of particular people, groups, places, actions and events in the past in developingAustralian identities and heritage.

� describes some aspects of colonial exploration and expansion and the impact these had on all Australians

� examines viewpoints of women and of Aboriginal, Chinese and British people about the events, people and actions associated with the colonisation of Australia

� examines the impact of the stolen generations on all Australians.
