Objective: Students will research, read, understand and carry out the process requirements. They will use the knowledge to
answer the questions and also evaluate other groups and their group members.
Students research skills will be enhanced as they learn how to deduce the
importance of information they find on the internet. How to read an article and
answer questions in regards to a certain topic. 

Grade
Level:
 9-12
Lesson Duration: Three class periods (45 min each). 
Materials: All documents and links are embedded into the WebQuest. The
Graphic Organizer that the students need are attached in each section and
students can print them. Please have copies of both rubrics before class.

Procedure:
Session 1:
1. All students will first read about Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi to get a general idea of who they are.
2. Students will then divide into groups of four. Each student will have the role of journalist and will research one question on Part 2. Each student will need a copy of the respective Graphic Organizer required for their question.
2.After their independent research, group members will proceed to part 3 where they will meet and have a discussion about the information they have collected.
3. Group members will evaluate each others' collected data to make sure all required criteria are met.
4. 
The group members will then combine all the information into a comprehensive document and each member should make a copy. 

Session 2:  
1. The group members will then create a digital presentation such as Power Point Presentation of all the information attained from part 1. These information should flow sequentially.
2. Individual groups will present their presentations. 
3. During individual group presentations, the other groups will use the Presentation Evaluation Rubric to evaluate the groups.
4. Group members will then evaluate each other using the Group Rubric.
5. The groups will then hand in their digital copy to the teacher.
6. All students will then hand in their two Rubric evaluations completed.

Session 3:
With the knowledge of Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi and racism, the group members will then proceed to part 3 where they will individually work and answer the questions.
At the end of this sessions, the students will hand in their answers.
Group members will then create a newspaper and randomly place the information. 

Session 4: 
Groups will finish up working on their newspapers. Then they will hand it in to me. Finally, Students will proceed to part 6 where they will learn more about American heroes and Racism in USA and answer the questions based on their own thoughts, feelings and experiences. They will then hand in their answers.
