Myriad Miscellaneous Mathematicians

Goals:

1. Learn about historically important mathematicians.
2. Gain an understanding of commonalities between famous mathematicians and ourselves.
3. Collaborate effectively in small groups to deliver a compelling presentation.

Tasks:

• Students will self-divide into groups of 3-4 individuals.
• From the list provided on the next page, choose two mathematicians.  
• In your groups, you will research your two choices that you feel best represent your group members.  
• Your group should be looking for information about the mathematician's life:  birthdate, date of death, family background, education, careers, and any other facts that you find pertinent.  
• You will a Google Slide presentation to present your information to the rest of the class.
