Italiani Famosi

Tasks

20170720075208ySaBy.jpg

This project is super simple and is not intended to confuse anyone but rather enlighten you about the various famous Italians thought out history in various categories. Of course it would take too much time to learn 100 or so or more and given that you have the class for a minimum of two years, you will learn 20 of your own as a starting point and we will continue through out the year to learn others. These however, will be of your choosing.

Upon completion of the cards, the class will work together in pairs and groups to use the cards to practice the two Italian verbs CONOSCERE AND SAPERE as well as the direct object pronouns  (LO and LA   him/her). We will use the cards to ask such questions as "Do you know who wrote The Divine Comedy?"    (sapere)   .  Do you know Roberto Benigni? (conoscere).    No, io non LO conosco.   etc.

You will create TWO items for this project:

  1. Create a set of photo flash cards with photo, name, profession and person's greatest contribution.
  2. Write 20 questions of your own work with the answers provided on a separate sheet of paper/ google document.

TEACHER TIPS FOR SUCCESS IN STARTING AND SUCCEEDING:

1. Think about which famous people come to mind in your own language/heritage? Did you think first of a sports figure or an explorer?

2. You might also open up all of the links just to see what they are about. Then go back and make a list.  A bit like window shopping, look, glance around and then go buy.

3.  I would get my paper supplies ready as one stage and figure out how you want each card to look. Figure out the lay out of the cards.

4. You can work on paper or a google doc to make your notes and THEN transfer it all onto the cards.

5. I would do the questions AFTER you have all of your cards complete. You will be able to look at your cards easily and then formulate questions.
