To Kill A Mockingbird: Race

Task

Race seems to be one of the most recurring theme in To Kill A Mockingbird.  The fact that this novel takes place in the early 1930's, racism was a very big issue and still can seem to stay an issue as of today. Throughout the book, racism is expressed through actions, words, and body language.  This theme is what always is either bringing out the best or the worst in people: That's what I thought, but around here once you have a drop of Negro blood, that makes you all black. Also, things even were narrowed down when it came to the whites talking to, looking at, and especially touching the blacks, She was white, and she tempted a Negro. She did something that in our society is unspeakable; she kissed a black man. Not an old uncle, but a strong Negro man.
