Math Based Career Opportunites

Students will be divided into five groups of four.  From the list provided the students will choose a career path that requires experience in mathematics.  The students will research their career to find how math is used in the field, what the highest level of math is required for the career, if the career has a high need for more employees, and what other subject areas are necessary for the career, as well as, any other interesting information for that career.  Once the students find their information for the career, they will have to find three different career opportunities that require a background in mathematics.  With each of the three new careers the will research two interesting facts about the career.  The three careers that the students find on their own must be different from the list that was provided to the class at the beginning of the project. From there the students will prepare a PowerPoint(or Prezi) presentation with 8-12 slides with the information they find.
