Students often ask, "How can I use math in my real life?".  Now you have an opportunity to do just that!  Whether you want to become a writer, personal trainer, chef or policeman, it's a good idea to plan ahead.

Using your knowledge of scatter plots, lines of best fit and linear functions, you will create graphs to predict the cost of tuition for 4 years after you graduate from high school.  The following will be required for your final presentation:

1. Your data

2. Your graphs

3. Your equations

4. Your predictions

5. A summary ( see Requirements)

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Follow the steps under "Process" in the webquest.

2. Your final product will be a Power Point presentation.  If you need help using Power Point or scanning your graphs, let me know.

3. You have 3 weeks to complete the webquest.  The data you will be using is due after one week and the graph and equations are due after two weeks.  You will then have a week to work on your predictions and summary.

4. Your summary should include any obersvations you make about the cost of tuition over the years, your reasons for choosing your schools and any thoughts on how you will finance your education.  (For example, will you get a job? Are you going to apply for scholarships or loans? Are there other means of financing it?  Will it really cost that much?)

5. This project is worth 10% of your final grade.  Make sure you turn your work in on time and that it is free of errors and is neat.
