struggles against. There may be internal or external struggles e.g. at Gateshead: She struggles against a

family who do not want her and has an inability to control her feelings.

2.Jane Eyre is the story of a girl who faces problems in many areas of her life; family school, society

and relationships. If you were rewriting a modern �Jane Eyre�, how would you update the problems

that your heroine faces in these four areas so that they were relevant to life in the 1990�s?
