Through different types of activities including reading, vocabulary and writing students will be able to identify how people, places, events and things have contributed to their world today. They will identify specific people from the places, events that took place which influenced their future, places that have been created or changed in which they live in today and products, services and goods in which they use in their daily lives. Students will be able to comprehend and understand the influence all of this information has had on their world today. Students will also use technology as a resource to complete some of the tasks asked of them. After five daily lessons students will be able to write a reflection of the lessons they have been through as it relates to their personal life today.

Special education students and ELL learners will also be accomodate in order to learn the same concepts as the rest of the class. Modified materials such as audio stories, a copy of the notes and powerpoints as well as modified worksheets will be provided for these students.
