Please READ all information before starting!

Students will work in groups of four to create a Parenting Handbook for N.E. Ware Hospital's staff to distribute to new parents.  Follow the steps below to create your finished product.

1.  You will need the SECTION REQUIREMENTS page (attached at bottom of page) to complete
your project, so print that off now!

2.  Check out the EVALUATION tab to see how you will be graded for this project, and so you know
exactly what I expect of you.

3.  Each student will need to choose a role which contains two or three sections of the book to complete.
Choose one from the list below:
  • Expert Team Member #1:  Cover Page, Index, Development Chart
  • Expert Team Member #2:  Positive Parenting Techniques, Proper Nutrition
  • Expert Team Member #3:  Childhood Diseases & Emergencies, Creating a Safe Environment
  • Expert Team Member #4: Activities to Promote Learning, Helpful Resources
4.  After choosing one of the above roles, each student should follow their SECTION
REQUIREMENTS  to complete their designated pages of the handbook.  The following is a list of
websites to get you started. Please feel free to use other sites as well.

5.  After researching these various sites, each member is to complete the pages in their section following
the SECTION REQUIREMENTS  page.  Students should type their pages using Microsoft Word.

6.  After completing all requirements for chosen role and sections, students should print out their
     created pages.

7.  All team members will need to help create the finished handbook.  All pages should be in clear plastic
page protectors.  All sections should be organized using tab dividers.  Finished product should be in a
small 3-ring binder and in the following order:
  • Cover Page
  • Index
  • Development Chart
  • Positive Parenting Techniques
  • Proper Nutrition
  • Childhood Diseases & Emergencies
  • Creating a Safe Environment
  • Activities to Promote Learning
