Process

To begin with, we need to understand what emotional burnout is from a psychological point of view. To do this, watch a short video and write down for yourself the necessary information in a nutshell. Please note that after the video you will need to answer a few questions.

"What Does It Mean to Have "Burnout"?" by How to ADHD (https://www.youtube.com/@HowtoADHD)

Note: watch first 4 minutes.

Task 1. Answer the questions:

1) What is "burnout" and how is it defined in the video?
2) What are the aspects that characterize "burnout" in the workplace?
3) What are the six dimensions of mismatch between a person and their work that can lead to "burnout"?
4) Which groups of people are particularly susceptible to experiencing "burnout"?
5) Why is addressing "burnout" important for both employers and employees?

Now that we know what emotional burnout is, let's watch another video that shows us how best to deal with burnout. Make the necessary useful notes, because after the video you have a small task to do.

Now you will have a written task to complete.

Task 2. Write about three methods or strategies you use to cope with emotional burnout. Explain why these methods or strategies are effective for you and how they help you restore emotional well-being.

Based on the previous two videos, you have a group task to complete. So, let's imagine that someone in your company is burned out. He sees no point in going on and continuing with his university studies or work. Your task is to help him: you need to spark him back to life!

You have five minutes to complete this task. You have to ascertain how deep his burnout is (use true / false questions from the first slide) and write 3 to 6 ideas or methods to help your buddy. Also write methods from the least productive (in your opinion) to the most productive. You should argue for each method. Then each group comes up with their own project. Afterwards, the other groups collectively discuss the advantages and disadvantages of your ideas.

You will find a link to a Google Presentation below. There you will find several slides: just pick one slide for your group. Write these methods on it.
