Process

1. The first thing you need to do research "Back to the Wild." After all if you are going to write a newspaper article on the facilities, you need to be able to describe what it is. Your reporter notes should answer essential questions like....  What is Back to the Wild? When was Back to the Wild started? How is Back to the Wild funded? What does it mean by "Back to the Wild  is a non-profit operation?" Remember a good reporter asks good questions so don't feel limited by the suggested questions, and come up with at least 2 of your own to answer.

2. One of the main points of the newspaper article is to help Mona raise money so she can continue her work and hopefully release the animals back to the wild. In order to do this, we have to know what kind of animals she takes care of. Please find out the animals that Back to the Wild currently or previously has had at the facility.

3. Focus- Mona asked us to find out about a number of animals at Back to the Wild  but then she wanted us to focus the article on one animal that interests you. As a reporter,  you need to be able to research the topics your boss gives you. Pick one animal and find out more information like..... What is the animal's normal habitat? What does the animal eat? How long does the animal live? Who is the animal's predators in nature? How does it live? What are its special characteristics or physical features? Remember a good reporter asks good questions, so don't feel limited by the suggested questions and come up with at least 2 of your own questions to answer.

Remember to record all of your information in your "Reporter's Notebook." We will use this notebook to record the information from this webquest and the field trip and ultimately write our article. . Hopefully your first assignment as reporter/photographer for the "Osborne Reporter" will be your dream job! Good Luck!!!
