Process

Let the Adventure begin!

Now that we have our teams of four, we need to decide what roles we are going to play. Amongst your team, you will need:
*Tour Guide - in charge of keeping the group on track
*Data Analyst - will keep record of information that is found
*Zoologist - in charge of animal drawing and specialized features
*Biome Expert - in charge of knowing the kind of biome the animal survives in

Now that we know what roles we will play, let's decide what type of animals we will be looking at today.
Go to this site and roll to find out what kind of animal you wiill be studying today. Make sure you use a 6-faced dice and just roll one:

(1) or (2) mammal
(3) or (4) reptile
(5) bird
(6) amphibian

Now, as a group, decide what animal you are going to be learning more about. Animals can be chosen from the following sites:

Mammals:

Reptiles:

Birds:

Amphibians:

Now it's time for the fun part.

From the links above, where you found your animal, use the links provided with your animal choice and find out information about your animal. The Data Analyst will record information into the attached Animal Information sheet.

The Zoologist will focus on finding pictures of the group's animal and will work with the Data Analyst to determine it's distinguishing features.

The Biome Expert will also work with the Data Analyst to figure out where the animal lives. Once they find out where they live, the Biome Expert will fill out the attached Biome Worksheet with the appropriate infomation using the following links:

Tour Guide will help the Data Analyst, Zoologist, and Biome Expert find their information and will make sure ALL information is found before the presentation of your animal.

Last Step: Create Portfolio
The Tour Guide needs to look at the attached document, titled Portfolio Contents, and make sure that their group has all the information needed to present the completed portfolio to the class. Ask your teacher for a folder to put your group's information into once you have completed finding ALL the needed information.

Written Report: All the members in the group use their information that they have found and write a written report together. Include important and unique facts about your animal.

Handout: Lastly, create a handout to be given out during your presentation.
