Financing Your Business

When your roles have been chosen you will break up into your specialty groups. You will have one class period to collect information, take notes, and learn what you need to do your part of the job.

At the beginning of the next class period, you will get back with your home groups, tell them what you learned, and make recommendations on how you think things should be done at your company. Remember, many of these jobs are dependent on one another so be sure to work out any conflicting issues. For example, you can't have the Management Specialist hiring 50 employees if the Finance Specialist thinks you can only afford to pay 20.

The third class period spent on this will be spent putting together a 6 slide PowerPoint presentation telling the bank how you will run the business and why it will be profitable. The first slide should be an introductory slide giving the bank your company name and some background about the professionals you are working with. In the next 4 slides, one should be used for each of your specialties. The last slide should wrap it up and give a slogan or tagline for your company. The slides should be streamlined and go together. It should appear that the group worked together, not as individuals on this task.

The fourth and final class period dedicated to this project will be spent giving your presentations and convincing the bank that your company should be the one to buy the coffee shop.
