Community Helpers in Our Neighborhoods

• Teacher and students will talk about the list of community helpers and their roles
• Teacher and students will list 10 community helpers on the board
• Teacher and students will then lists the important roles the community helpers play/ jobs they do beside the wrote helpers
• Each child will choose one of the listed community helpers on the board and create a page to put in the classrooms "Community Helpers" book.

*Assuming their are 10 students in the class. If more students then add more community helpers*

Directions for Students:

1. Give each student a piece of computer paper
2. Write the community helpers title at the top of your paper in big letters
3. Draw and color a picture that relates specifically to your chosen community helper
4. Under your picture, write at least 2 sentences that describe the role your community helper plays / their job they do

Direction for Teacher: 

1. Teacher will make enough copies of each page for every student
2. Teacher will laminate each page 
3. Teacher will bind the pages together to make a book for each student

*The teacher will write for any student that is unable to legibly print*
