Telling Time using Analog and Digital Clocks

Step 1      First you will click the link https://learnzillion.com/lesson_plans/5772-reading-the-exact-time-on-a-clock/ to review how to tell time. 


Step 2      Then I will explain the components of a clock. 


Step 3      On the smartboard I will put an image of a clock adding numbers and the minute and hour hand. I will then model a few times and explain how we use the hour and the minute hand.


Step 4      Next you will print out a T Chart by clicking the link labeled T Chart at the bottom of this page.  Here you will work on a T chart in pairs and write times on your own T-chart. 


Step 5      Now to see if I grasp how to tell time have you will take a quiz on https://www.education.com/game/telling-time-quiz/ Click this link https://www.education.com/game/telling-time-quiz/

Step 6  As soon as everyone is wrapping up I will have you will print out the Telling Time Worksheet by clicking the link below labeled Telling Time.  I will call out 16 different times. You will record time as analog or digital. You can put the Time wherever you want on your time card. 


  Step 7     Next, I will pull back up the smartboard. You will come up one at a time and pick a time card. For each time you will position the hour and minute hand.
