Process
You are required following the guidelines outlined below in order to gain a full understanding of the concept of speed as well as to complete the task that was previously stated.
                  DAY ONE:
     1.   Click the links below to access information about speed
            http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/ks3/maths/measures/use_of_measure/revision/7/

       2.   Click the link below and watch the video to enhance your understanding of a distance/time graph
            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MLH-9W0oxQ

       3.   Click the link below to test your knowledge of the concept of speed
            https://quizlet.com/266926022/distance-time-graphs-flash-cards/

                 DAY TWO:
     4.   In groups of five (5), assemble on the play field and conduct running exercises. Each group member will run a distance of 100m and the other group                   members will record the following:
. The time taken by the student
.The speed at which the student ran

Additionally, each group must calculate and record the average speed of the group members. This information will be shared with the other groups                   subsequent to which each group will calculate the average speed of the entire class over a distance of 100m.

     5.       In the table below, log the information that was collected from the field activity in step 4.

name of group member distance           time                    speed=m/s

Average speed of group ____________________________
Average speed of class _______________________________

         6.     Assuming that the police received tips about the whereabouts a gang of criminals who are hiding in separate buildings that are 100m, , 300m,                                  400m,500m, 700m and 900m away. They are able to detect this using sophisticated GPS and other high tech devices. However, the police do not                      have  sufficient time as the thieves are constantly planning an escape route. Additionally the thieves intend to go on the run in 5 minutes. In your                   established groups, your job is to use the knowledge you have acquired to assist the police in catching the criminals. Therefore, prepare the following                information in a Microsoft Word document that should be emailed to which ultimately be sent to the police:
.The minimum speed at which the police must travel in order to catch the criminals in the respective buildings
.Given that the criminals who were located greater than 400m away from the police fled prematurely and covered an additional of 3km, advise the                   police on the necessary steps that must be taken in order to catch those set of criminals.

        7. Write a formal letter to the Jamaica Constabulary force informing the commissioner of police about steps that can be taken to enhance the efficiency                with which criminals are caught when their whereabouts are known.
