Students will abide by the following steps to complete the twenty page book. 

After reviewing the tasks the steps include: 

Step 1

You will click the link below to watch the video to get familiar with food chain and food web. Please remember that when you click on a link, do not close the page, just go back or you will close the program.

Step 2

The group members will share the tasks among themselves. 


Step 3

The information that will be provided by the following members should be typed and printed when complete. Please note that any style or font can be used in completing the book. The only material that shouldn't be printed is the cover pages of the book.


Step 4

One member will create the covers (back and front) of the book using cartridge paper.The back of the book can be style to the design of your choice. The front cover of the book should include a creative title related to the topic (food chain and food web), the authors name, the teachers name and the due date.  


Step 5

The same member of the group mentioned previously will write the introduction, acknowledgement and table of content of the book. The introduction of the book should include the purpose of making the book and a brief overview of what the books entails. The introduction should follow the front cover of the book, labelled number 2. The Acknowledgement should include the appreciation of people who helped in creating the book and should be on page three (3). The content page should include the content titles and the page number to where the contents can be found. The table of content should be on page four (4).


Step 6

For member two of the group, you will complete the first part of the content for the book. The first page of the content should include the title (What is a food chain? / Food chain) and a brief overview, summary or definition about the topic. Pictures (three pictures from different habitat) should be included and different pictures of food chain should be included. An example of three habitat is shown below. The information should be presented on three pages and follow directly after the content page.

Step 6

For member three, you will do the same for the second segment of the content which will include the title (Food Web/ what is a Food Web?). A brief overview/ summary/ definition or description should be included. Pictures of different habitat should be included. Examples of different habitat is shown in the link below.

The information presented should be on three (3) pages and follow directly after the food chain segment.


Step 7

For members 3 and 4, you will do content three and four; that is, finding information on the different trophic level and the energy level. Pictures should be included for each trophic level and relevant information should be present on the energy level with the inclusion of pictures. The information should be represented well. You can use these examples as a guide from the links to help.

Please note that the information presented should be on both the food chain and the food web. The information should be presented on five pages and follow directly after the food web content.


Step 8

For member 5, you will add a food web and food chain worksheet and create the vocabulary and references for the book. The vocabulary should include science core terms. Some of the terms include; herbivores, carnivores, omnivores, trophic level, consumers, producers, food web, food chain, etc. An example of a vocabulary is shown in the attachment section. The vocabulary is located on page three (3) of the document. The vocabulary should be represented on two pages of the book. The worksheet should follow the vocabulary and you can use the link below to get ideas to create a worksheet, or get samples of worksheet.

The reference page should be presented on one page . 


Step 9

You will present and explain the book to your teacher and to your community members  (who lacks knowledge about the ecosystem).
