Task 1

Find your trade under the first list of websites below. Visit the website and read the information about your trade.   Research what your daily jobs are.

1. What tools do you need for your trade?
2. What skills do you have?
3. Where do you work?
4. What do you wear?

Task 2

Visit the second website and gather more information. Also look at the pictures of your traders.

Task 3

Write 1 paragraph explaining the most important parts of your trade in your Journal. You are pretending you are the trader, so the sentences should have the word "I" in them.   (Blacksmith Example: Everyday I use an anvil and forge.) Have your work checked by a classmate.

Task 4

Visit the slideshows of colonial traders.   Look at their tools and goods.  These pictures will help you create your own drawing.

Task 5

Create a sign using the blank sheets of paper from your teacher. Write your paragraph at the bottom of the sign.  Then draw a picture of yourself doing your trade using colored pencils or crayons.  These signs will be hung in the hallway.
