Process

picasso_selfport1907(1).jpg

Step 1:

This assignment involves documenting a Spanish artist and recreating an art work while describing the process in which the artist created it. Each team will choose a Spanish artist from South America, the Caribbean, Mexico or Spain.

Step 2:

Each team will consist of three students. You can either choose to have each member be responsible to gather and record information and also help in the recreation of the chosen art piece or you can have each member have a specific task in the team, whatever fits your learning process.

Step 3:

You will be documenting the process of the art being created but also your artist’s life. You will be asking questions like:

*       Where do they live?

*       How are their lives compared to other people?

*       What sort of mediums and utensils do they use?

*       What processes did they take to create?

*       What sort of reactions did the public have to their artwork?

Step 4:

After you have gathered this info, create a biography/timeline on the artist. You can use charts, PowerPoint, posters, etc. along with the recreated art work your team worked on. You will try to recreate the sort of process used by the artist, ex. Describing how long it took, what was going in the artist life, what sort of obstacles (if any) did the piece of art give the artist.

Your presentation should be 25 minutes long and should include questions and answers for your audience.
