Learning Objectives

7.E.1 Understand how the cycling of matter (water and gas) in and out of the atmosphere relates to Earth’s atmosphere, weather and climate and the effects of the atmosphere to humans.
7.E.1.3 Explain the relationship between the movement of air masses, high and low pressure systems, and frontal boundaries to storms (including thunderstorms, hurricanes, and tornadoes) and other weather conditions that may result.
7. E.1.4 Predict weather conditions and patterns based on information obtained from:
• Weather data collected from direct observations and measurement (wind speed and direction, air temperature, humidity and air pressure).
• Weather maps, satellites and radar


Day 1: Severe Weather Cornell Notes(Students will set up their page to take Cornell Notes in their interactive notebook). Students will complete reading passage and questions for homework.

Day 2: Students choose a severe weather to research based on their interest according to the guidelines given and begin researching.

Day 3: Students write and peer edit information researched 

Day 3/4: Students develop, write up, and present an action plan based on their research

Day 4/5: Students present their findings, action plans, and other data including charts, web pages, etc. that they have created.

Day 5/6: Students create/design a superhero/villain that uses their type of severe weather as a power. 

**As students finish early on any given day, they will start the web quest.**
