To start, you must understand BAC and how it affects the body, enter the following information into the BAC calculator and record the person's BAC and where that puts them on the BAC chart values.


180 lb male (social drinker) who has been drinking 4.5% beer for 3 hours and has had 8 drinks

140 lb female (social drinker) who has been drinking 12.5% wine for 2 hours and has had 5 drinks

191 lb male (social drinker) who has had 5 beers (4.5%) and 6 shots (40%) over a 2.5 hour time. 

Effects of Underage Drinking
  • Legal problems, such as arrest for driving or physically hurting someone while drunk
  • School problems, such as higher absence and poor or failing grades
  • Social problems, such as fighting and lack of participation in youth activities
  • Disruption of normal growth and sexual development
  • Higher risk for suicide and homicide
  • Alcohol-related car crashes and other unintentional injuries, such as burns, falls, and drowning
  • Changes in brain development that may have life-long effects
