Civics: Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship.
Process
1. Use the websites below and research the rights. Fill in what responsibilities that come with those rights. Write down the rights and responsibilities on the Good Citizen sheet provided.

2. A citizen is a member of a community or group of peoples. You are a citizen in the United States, but you are also a citizen of our classroom. To become a citizen, special requirements must be fulfilled. For example, a classroom citizen must be enrolled in school, attend class regularly, and follow the established rules. Being a citizen is a privilege and responsibilities come with that privilege.

3. Use the Classroom Rights and Responsibilities form. What rights should you have as a student in our classroom? What responsibilities should the class have? Write your responses down on the classroom rights and responsibilities sheet provided. Write brief essay for the newspaper about our rights and responsibilities. Be sure to include a possible conflict that may occur with our rights and a possible solution.
