A First Thanksgiving Adventure

Day One:

�         Today will begin by starting your webquest with a video on the first Thanksgiving and taking notes on the bubble map organizer provided.

�         Then you will go and read about the Mayflower.

�         Then you will take the journey and tour the ship.

�         Finally start getting to know your vocabulary words by completing a word search.

Day Two:

�        Today   will begin by watching a video on Squanto and the Miracle of Thanksgiving and taking notes on the bubble map organizer provided.

�         Then you will go and read about the daily life of the Pilgrims and the Indians whom they lived near and around.

�         Finally print out the vocabulary flashcards and picture match then cut it out.

�         You may pair up and playing fun matching games with either the vocabulary words pictures or both.

Day Three:

�          Today  will begin by doing a comparison and contrast worksheet provided of the two videos feel free to watch the two videos again if necessary or to use your bubble maps.

�          Then you will read about and discover the First Thanksgiving feast.

�          Finally I want to test your knowledge on your vocabulary words through completing a vocabulary crossword puzzle.

Day Four

�        Today will begin by thinking about what you are thankful for.

�       Next you will be going on a virtual field trip of the Plymouth Colony of your choice.

�        Then making a Turkey on the feathers you will write what you are thankful for. 

�       Finally get up and let some of your energy out by doing theTurkey dance.

Day Five:

�       Today  will begin by doing a summative assessment essay on what you have learned over the past week including dates and highlights from your readings and field trips.

�         When finished you may then work on your extension project. 

           EXTENSION:  

       �        You will create and design and make your own living township of Plymouth, Massachusetts in conjunction with your classmates. This will include researching businesses, and other civilizations that may have been living around the township during the 1620�s. You need to choose to dress up as either a Pilgrim or an Indian and then have your picture taken next to your structure.
