Job1: You will research your topic and answer the following questions:
1. Where was your ancient culture located?
- where on the world map did this culture live?
- how would you describe it?
- were there any challenges or benefits for the culture living in this location?
2. What technologies did this culture use to survive?
- what tools did they use?
- what weapons?
- what did they use for travel?
- what did they use for shelter?
- what foods did they eat?
- how did they prepare and store their food and water?
- what did they wear and how was their clothing decorated?
3. What was the belief (spiritual) system of this culture?
- what or who did they worship?
- what were their ceremonies and/or rituals?
- did they wear particular clothing for these ceremonies?
- did they have any artifacts they used in these rituals?
4. How did they govern, educate and look after themselves?
- who led the people and who made decisions for them?
- how were these decisions made?
- did they have any artifacts or symbols they used to identify government leaders
or groups?
- how were the children taught and who was responsible for teaching?
- what did they use for health care?
5. What did their economy look like?
- how did they get goods they didn't make themselves?
- who did they trade with?
6. Are there any other interesting facts that you uncovered in your research?
- has this culture survived?
- what did a usual day look like for the average member of these cultures?
- what did they do for fun, what games did they play
Grade 5s you need to have at least 5 facts for each of your research questions.
