Planting a Seed

1.   First step you will get the following Materials: 2 paper towels, small clear cups,alfalfa seed, bean seed, water, hand lens , yarn ruler
2. Fold a paper towel, and place it around the inside of the jar.
3. Makethe second paper towel in to a ball, and place it inside the jar to fill thespace.
4. Place the alfalfa seed about 3 cm from the top of the jar, between the paper towellining and the jars side. You should be able to see the seed through the jar
5. Place the bean in a similar position on the other side of the jar.
6. Pour water in to the jar to soak the towels completely.
7. Set the jar in a warm place, and leave it there for five days. Be sure to keep thepaper towels moist.
8. Make a chart like the sample I gave it to you.
9. Use the hand lens to observe the seeds daily for five days. Measure the growth ofthe roots and shoots with the yarn. Use the ruler to measure the yarn. Recordyour observation on your chart daily.
