Double Entry System

Process

A photostory will be presented to the students on what a double entry system is and related terms. An example of a transaction will also be presented on the photostory.

The teacher will then ask students what they have observed and what they understand from the photostory.

Students will be asked to volunteer in demonstrating a role play. The role play will entail a transaction and students will be asked to make mention to the accounting equation. Books will be used as goods and paper will be used as money to demonstrate this transaction where students will exchange goods and money.

Based on the role play students will compare the similarities and differences between an increase or decrease in an asset, liability or capital transaction.

The teacher will then show students a video and to further explain and reinforce the rules/principles of the double entry system.

Students will be asked to take notes/information on what is double entry system. Students will be asked to complete the transaction.
