Now you are off on your quest. As you complete each task you get closer to the treasure.

Step 1

Find a partner for the quest. Work with that partner to figure out the steps required to complete each task. Remember to apply some of the concepts learned in Word and PowerPoint. Also use the screen tips to guide you.

Tasks

  1. Open Excel.
  2. Rename sheet 1 to January, sheet 2 to February and sheet 3 to March.
  3. Insert worksheets for the months April to July.
  4. Make sure the sheets are in the correct order.
  5. Enter the data in the tables on page 2 of the handout  into your workbook.
  6. Week 3 was left out in error on the January worksheet. Insert a column for Week 3 on that worksheet and enter the following data: Bananas 254, Oranges 748, mangoes 758.
  7. Week 3 was also left out in error in the February worksheet. Insert a column for Week 3 on that worksheet and enter the following data: Bananas 335, Oranges 648, mangoes 858.
  8. On the January worksheet insert a row labelled Golden Apples between Oranges and Mangoes and enter the following values: 390, 752, 588, 698.
  9. On the February worksheet insert a row labelled Golden Apples between Oranges and Mangoes and enter the following values: 600, 322, 548, 538.
  10. Widen the columns where necessary.
  11. Copy and paste the labels on the January worksheet onto the March, April, May and June worksheets.
  12. Delete the July worksheet.
  13. Change the number of oranges sold during week 1 in January to 500.
  14. Delete the row Bananas on the February worksheet.
  15. Insert a row at the top of the table in the January sheet.
  16. Enter the title 'LOCAL FRUITS SOLD'.
  17. Merge and centre the title.
  18. Add fill colour to the title row.
  19. Insert an appropriate graphic in the title row.
  20. Apply a table style to the table in the February worksheet.
  21. Save the workbook as Local Fruits.
