  • You will be assigned to groups of four.
  • Each student will visit several websites and share the information with their group.
  • You will meet as a group to choose a project to complete and write a plan for completing the project.
  • You will create a presentation with your group using video, photos, or PowerPoint.
  • You will demonstrate knowledge of mathematical concepts encountered in the course of completing this project.
  • Present your project to the class.

Project choices (If you have an appropriate idea for something different I am open to suggestions, and may add it to the list for future classes.)

1.) Choose a method of navigation (GPS, sextant, compass, etc..) and plan a trip to circumnavigate the world. Money is no object, but you must plot the course, and choose interesting places to visit along the way.

2.) Create a geocache to place locally, and locate several local goecaches. Remember to be respectful and log your visits appropriately.

3.) Research the history of navigation as well as the specific methods of navigation used by explorers in history.
