Below are the necessary details to complete this WebQuest. The step-by-step process provided is easily followed but if you have any further questions or you are unsure of what to do please don't hesitate to ask your teacher. Before the task can be started each student in the classroom will be paired up with another student, this can be either done by student selecting who they want to work with or the teacher can select or decide on the pairings.

Step 1: The first step of this process is to browse, research and select you favoured holiday destination. Jot down as many advantages of your holiday destination as you can. Keep in mind that your partner will be looking for disadvantages in your choice later on in the process. There are several URL's provided to help you in your reseach. The main points to consider when doing the research is cost of travel and accommodation (remember your budget is $5000), attractions, events and sites to visit and cultural/social perspectives to look forward to.

Once you have selected you preferred holiday detsination, it is now time to contact two local travel agents and get more details in regards to the cost, accommodation, attractions and cultural aspects of your holiday destination. The reason you need to these details is because your peers will be voting at the end of your presentation on which hoiday destination is preferred between you and your partner on 5 key aspects to do with the holiday. These key aspects are: cost(under or over budget), accommodation, attractions, food and the itinerary you create.

Email and phone contact details of two local travel agents have been provided in the resource section. You may use these or other travel agents in the local area that you prefer. Discuss with the travel agent about some of the details of your destination, especially sites and attractions to visit, location and cost of accommodation.

Step 2: Now that you have each selected your preferred holiday destination and have conducted the necessary research you must inform your partner of your selection. Now each member must research the other members holiday destination and find as many as possible disadvantages with their selection. Using the template provided in the resource section please fill in the table. You will also have to present this information to you peers and teacher at the end of the task so that they can vote for the best holiday destination. They will make their decision based on the advantages that you come up with earlier on for your holiday and the disadvantages that you come up with for your partners holiday.

Step 3: In this step you will create and design you very own poster of the holiday destination that you have selected. Your poster is to be an advertsiment that sells your holiday destination. In needs to be creative, colourful and show your artistic skills. There is a youtube video tutorial that demonstrates how to use Microsoft Windows Paint program if you are unsure how to use it. It shows the basic tools that you will require to create a poster. If you have experience using any other paint program feel free to use it.

You also have to come up with an itinerary for your holiday. There is a table provided for you to complete in the resource section that will help in the organisation of your day to day program. The itinerary is an important component for this task as it will gain many votes for your holiday destination if you present a well structured and designed program full of activities and events to attend for the full 7 days that you are on your holiday.

Step 4: Presentation time. You will have to sell your holiday destination to the rest of your peers and your teacher. You will firstly speak about your selected holiday destination providing all of the advantages and sites and attractions of your holiday. You will inform your listeners about the cost of the holiday, the accommodation such as where its located, is it near the city or shopping precinct or near the beach, also how many stars is the hotel, is it a 3 or 4 or 5 star hotel, what facilites are available at the hotel, you will also inform them about the cultural perspective of your holiday destination. This is also your opportunity to comment on some of the disadvanatges of your partners holiday destination.

You will display to your peers the poster that you have created and also discuss your itinerary with them informing them of the sites, events and attractions tht you will attend.

Step 5: Students will need to complete the budget sheet provided to ensure that their holiday is under budget. Classroom students and teacher will now vote for their preferred holiday destination. The teacher will tally up the score and inform which member has been voted as the winner of best holiday destination.
