Best Practices in Reading

The Pinellas Vocabulary Project was degined by a team of people from Pinellas County Schools to follow along with the Macillan/McGraw-Hill Oral Vocabulary. You have all recieved the Pinellas Vocabulary Project book for first grade. These lesson will begin on Monday's and continues each day with a different activity to help the students learn the vocabulary words. Here is the breakdown of the program:

Monday

• Word introduced
• Gesture is taught
• Student friendly definition
• Ask a question

Tuesday

• Synonyms
• Antonyms

Wednesday

• Making choices, the studnet is asked a question and needs to choose if it goes with the vocabulary word

Thursday

• Questions, Reasons and Examples
• Relating Words

Friday

• Puzzles, the student gets 3 clues to guess what the vocabulary word is
