Hello class, before we start our year of different activities, I wanted to spend a week in the classroom learning about adapted physical education. Not only because this is required by the school, but we are also a firm believer in understanding how you will become interested with it, before we get a chance to get out of the classroom and have some fun.You will be given the chance to know more about adapted physical education and apply it outside the classroom for you to learn it more and also experience fun in doing this.

Let me give you a brief definition of ADAPTED PHYSICAL EDUCATION.

Adapted Physical Education (APE) is the art and science of developing, implementing, and monitoring a carefully designed physical education instructional program for a learner with a disability, based on a comprehensive assessment, to give the learner the skills necessary for a lifetime of rich leisure, recreation, and sport experiences to enhance physical fitness and wellness.
