What is the definition of addition?

When two or more numbers are added together, addition determines the overall number.
Addition, in other words, is the process of calculating the sum of two or more numbers.

Example:

3 and 4 add up to give 7.
5 and 5 add up to give 10

3 apples + 1 apple=  4 apples

In one basket, there are three apples, whereas, in the other, there is only one apple. As a result, we multiply 3 by 1 to get the total number of apples.

We can count forward one step from 3 to add 3 and 1.
The + symbol is used to denote addition (plus symbol).

So, 3 and 1 can be written as 3 + 1

Addition's identity:

Addition's identity property states that the sum of 0 and any number equals that number.
As an illustration, consider the following:
0 + 4 = 4

This is because the definition of 0 is "no quantity," so adding 0 to 4 does not change the quantity of 4!

It doesn't matter if the 0 appears before or after the number, according to the commutative characteristic of addition. With the 0 after the integer, here's an example of the identical feature of addition:
4 + 0 = 4

Facts to remember:

When you add 0 to any number, the result is the same as the number itself.
Counting is the same as adding 1 to a number repeatedly.
