Double, Double Toil and Trouble

It’s Saturday afternoon, January 12, 1692. You can’t wait for church tomorrow morning to show off the new shoes your dad’s import business just brought back for you from the Far East. You live in the town of Salem in the Massachusetts Bay Colony and you love your life. Not everyone is as lucky as you, in fact most everyone else is barely making it this winter. As you are lacing your shoes up to check them out just one more time, you hear your sisters downstairs run in. They are saying there are witches casting spells on the villagers. “Satan is here,” they scream to your mother. Your mother tells them they are being ridiculous, but their stories continue.
