Journey down the Trail of Tears

Imagine trenching through knee deep snow. You are starving, sick, and freezing in the frigid temperatures. You have no food or shelter, only a very long journey ahead of you. A journey to a place now known as the state of Oklahoma. This will be your new home. You are being forced to leave the village where you were born and everything you have ever known. You are not alone. Because President Andrew Jackson has signed the Indian Removal Act of 1830, you join hundreds of other Indians on the same excursion, to a new land to call home.
In this Webquest, you will be transformed into a Native American Indian on their treacherous voyage of the Trail of Tears. You will be learning about the events that led up to the Indian Removal Act of 1830, as well as, the trials and tribulations that Indians faced in these horrific times. Do you think you can survive?
