Obesity is associated with diabetes, heart disease, stroke, poor mental health and different outcomes (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015). Behaviors may consist of physical activity, inactivity, nutritional patterns, and other experiences (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015).
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, half of Americans do not exercise enough to prevent ailments, and more than one-third of them were obese between 2011 and 2014 (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015). Exercise has numerous benefits such as decreasing the risk of weight gain, heart disease, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, and depression (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015). In this WebQuest, the focus will be on a case study review of a client that suffers from obesity in correlation with a sedentary lifestyle with other complaints in which a healthcare expert counsels the client of realistic exercise regimens he can follow. Further, the four ethical principles of nursing will be incorporated in the case study which is autonomy, beneficence, justice, and veracity (Finkelman & Kenner, 2016). The nurse with skills and knowledge will provide the client with recommended education to assist in his compliance with the care plan. The objective is to support the client in achieving a project he is willing to follow to decrease the risk of other diseases for a positive patient outcome.
