FORCE AND LAWS OF MOTION
Force and types
FORCE
A force is a push or a pull. A force can give energy to an object causing the object to start moving, stop moving, or change its motion.
Types of Forces
- Balanced forces
- Unbalanced forces
DEFNITION :A force where two forces acting in opposite directions on a body with equal size are known as balanced forces. In balanced force, a body continues to be in its position .i.e. it may be continuously moving with the same speed and in the same direction or it may be still in its position.
DEFNITION :A force where two forces acting in opposite directions on a body, which is not equal in magnitude and in size are known as unbalanced forces. In unbalanced force, a body changes its position .i.e. in unbalanced force we can observe a moving object changing its direction, continuously moving object can either increase the speed and decrease the speed and a body at rest starts to move and vice versa.
LAWS OF MOTION
- The first law states that every body continues in its state of being at rest or of moving uniformly straight forward, unless and until it is compelled by an external unbalanced force
- The second law states that the rate of change of momentum of a body is directly proportional to the force applied, and this change in momentum takes place in the direction of the applied force
- The third law states that all forces between two objects exist in equal magnitude and opposite direction,or every action there is an equal anfd opposite reaction .
