2nd Grade Shapes
Introduction
In the 2nd grade classroom the students were introduced to new 2-dimensional shapes as well as 3-dimensional shapes. After understanding what each shape looks likes, and it's characteristics, students will search for shapes throughout the classroom and school. Students were then encouraged to find those shapes at home and out in the community. Students brought in pictures and notes about the shapes they found. The essential question to these lesson is : Can I identify solid figures by their edges, flat surfaces, and vertices?
