Potential and Kinetic Energy

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about riding a roller coaster? You probably did not think of potential and kinetic energy, instead you probably thought about how much fun they are to experience! During this lesson your mission will be to explore roller coasters and apply what we are learning about potential and kinetic energy to the overall experience of a roller coaster.

Potential Energy (PE) is the energy that is stored, or waiting to be used.

Kinetic Energy (KE) is the energy in motion.
