Cinderella Retold

Cinderella, one of the most well-known stories around the world, appears in the folklore of many cultures around the world. There are about 350 - 1500 different versions  of the story in the world today. From the Italian Cenerentola to German Aschenputtel to the most renowned French Cendrillon, the archetypal English name "Cinderella" has by analogy come to mean one whose attributes were unrecognized, or one who unexpectedly achieves recognition or success after a period of obscurity and neglect. 

Up till this day, the story of 'Cinderella' continues to influence popular culture internationally lending plot elements and allusions to a variety of media.
