Galileo is a science icon who helped with shifts in logic that are still in use today. Galileo was a member of the impoverished nobility and was one of at least six siblings, there is a controversy about the total number of his siblings. He is best known for his thought experiments with which he showed the limits of Aristotle's theory of motion and also left fertile ground for Einstein's later theories and experiments to grow.
