THE WORLD OF QUADRILATERALS

Students will become aware of different quadrilaterals in their environment. Quadrilaterals are of the most important and common type of polygons. You come in many shapes such as squares, rectangles, rhombuses and kites. Each of these shapes has their own defining characteristics, which we will learn about in the following lessons. Take a look around your environment right now. Many of our resources are made of some type of quadrilateral. Whether it's the television screen you're looking at, the building you are in, or the sheets of paper you write on, quadrilaterals are everywhere. Let's explore the properties and characteristics of these special shapes to expand our knowledge of geometry.You will be able to use the properties of the quadrilaterals to define each shapes. Students will conduct research in order to see the broadened scope of these shapes and how their distinct properties can provide benefit. Students analytical skills will be enhanced
