The development of these lessons is to study various oceanic processes affecting oceanic phytoplankton blooming of the North Atlantic region. This lesson represents a series of thematic lessons in identifying and predicting extraneous effects (e.g., sea surface temperatures, ocean nutrients, sunlight, atmospheric carbon dioxide, and chlorophyll production) on oceanic phytoplankton blooming. The aim of these lessons is to promote an awareness of climate change effects on living organisms such as the ocean phytoplankton.
