The Solar System consists of 8 planets that travel around the Sun. The Sun sits in the middle of all the planets while they move in a circular paths (orbits) around it. All the planets move in the same directions (counter-clockwise).

The Solar System is made up of two different parts which are called Inner & Outer Solar System. The Inner Solar System is Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. The Outer Solar System is Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, & Neptune. The two solar parts are separated by the Asteroid Belt.

Pluto is no longer considered a planet and is called a dwarf planet now.
