Discovering The First Permanent English Settlement: Jamestown
Introduction
Welcome Gentlemen and Ladies,
Although back in 1607 women were not allowed to voyage to the New World since it was deemed too dangerous. Women were required to wait until the colony was settled prior to arriving. However, now in 2012, we realize women can be quite helpful, so we have asked them to join us. We are going to take a journey back to 1607 when the English first settled in America. Each one of you, as colonists, will be required to keep a journal. In this journal you may add pictures and/or interesting facts, however, you must write an entry in your journal daily. We need to know everything about your experiences. What do you see? What the geography is like? Who do you meet? What is it like? However, even before those questions are answered you must also answer the question of why. Why are you going on this voyage?
