French Language and Culture

Introduction

There are four parts of this unit in French Language and Culture.  Students need to learn some basic vocabulary, including names of foods, clothing, and components of nature, for example.  Along with acquisition of vocabulary, students need to learn how to use parts of speech, such as subjects, verbs, adjectives and adverbs, and how to make them work together in complete sentences.  Conversation, the third part of this unit, is used to apply the knowledge of those basic parts of sentences to convey needs, ideas, or thoughts to another person through questions, answers, and statements.  The fourth component of this unit is culture.  The history, geography, and industry of a country are some of the areas we study as parts of the culture of France.  The photo above is the Arc De Triomphe, which is a prominent example of French culture that is visited by thousands of tourists each year.
