S.T.E.M. Career Challenge
Introduction
Soon middle school will be nearing an end and you are going to be forced to choose a career pathway for high school, but which one? The U.S. Census reports the average person will have over eleven different jobs before they turn forty. So, how are you supposed to know which career pathway is for you? How do you know which jobs will be in demand when you finish college?
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation state that over 2 million jobs will be created in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) related fields. Unfortunately, of the 4 million 9th graders, less than 170,000 are expected to graduate with a STEM degree (NCES; Digest of Education Statistics).
